KS1 Dance

Tuesday is when the KS1 children pull out their latest dance moves and strut their stuff with our qualified dance coach. The children are having lots of fun creating a group dance routine which they hope to perform to parents at the end of the sessions.

KS2 Boys’ Football

Every Tuesday evening, the boys in KS2 take to the football pitch with Mr Giampalmer and Miss Shortland. With only a few weeks until they compete in a local tournament at Asfordby Amateurs, all the boys are fighting for their place on the team. They are working hard on their ball skills, communication and team work and have some great new equipment, thanks to premier league primary stars, to practise with!

KS2 Secret Sports

Secret Sports at Swallowdale is an exciting after school club aimed at selected children in KS2. Each week, as the children change into their P.E. kits, they can be heard speculating with eager enthusiasm about what might be happening. The children do not know which sport they will be taking part in until the club begins. The aim is to encourage children to take part in a range of activities they might not otherwise feel confident to try.

Year 3/4 Yoga

Wednesday evenings are a time to relax. Rachel from Shine Yoga is ready and waiting to calm the children with an hour intensive yoga session. It is an opportunity for the children to work on their core strength and balance as well as learning about the importance of taking time to reflect and rejuvenate.

Year 5/6 Table Tennis

On a Wednesday, whilst yoga is happening in the small hall, there is quite a different picture in the large Hall. It is a scene of flying balls as the children playing table tennis work hard to improve their speed and accuracy of play. The team are looking forward to taking part in their first competition early next term and we know they will represent Swallowdale with enthusiasm and spirit.
