Young Voices 2016

Every year, schools across the country practise music in class with their teachers to prepare them to participate in massive concerts across the country.Fifty eight children from Swallowdale Primary School and six members of staff were delighted to recently visit the Genting Arena in Birmingham to perform in the Young Voices concert as part of a 6500 strong choir.  Young Voices combines the power of singing together as one, with accompaniment from a wide range of musicians and artists, to create an amazing performance.  This year we were fortunate to perform with the internationally acclaimed conductor David Lawrence and Laura Wright who had also performed at the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup.  The experience was unforgettable and we are hoping to return again next year.

Here are some of the comments made by our Young Voices choir:

I really enjoyed Young Voices and the experience was delightful! I loved the dancers and beatboxing. I will definitely go again next year and I would recommend going if you haven’t already been! Without any doubt, my favourite part of the day is having the opportunity to be with your friends and having the time of your lives. I have already bagsied a spot for next year!

Young Voices this year was an amazing day and we all had so much fun. The experience was incredible and I would definitely recommend going. The noise of all of the schools singing and the glow in the dark T-shirts looked amazing when the lights went out.

Young Voices was the best day and night ever! It was magical because it was like you are singing on stage. Making the day even more fantastic is that you get to sing with all of your friends! My favourite part was when we were dancing with Andy.
