Magistrates in the Community

Published: Friday, 16 September 2016

Year 6 had a visit from a Magistrate in the Community as their topic for this term is Crime and Punishment. Throughout the afternoon the children took part in a court trial and had to decide whether the defendant was 'guilty' or 'not guilty'. The children thoroughly enjoyed acting out their part and they created such a real-life setting. They were told about different punishments that may be given to people and were able to ask a lot of questions about real court cases that the magistrate had been involved in.
