Mrs Brown

I'm Mrs Brown and I am Deputy  Head here at Swallowdale.  After working for Barclays bank for 15 years, I decided I was indeed ready for a change of career.  I embarked on a part time degree course at Northampton University and four years later gained a Ba (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies.  During this time I worked as a Learning Support Assistant, here at Swallowdale, where I gained invaluable experience.  I left Swallowdale in 2006 to complete my teacher training at Leicester University and then was lucky enough to come back here in 2007 for my first teaching position.  I am passionate about maths teaching and learning and as part of my maths coordinator role I work for the East Midlands South Maths Hub, one day a week, supporting our school and other schools with maths teaching for mastery. Any spare time that I do have, involves visiting my twin daughters who are at university and playing with our gorgeous labradoodle puppy!
